Painter had 30 years of back pain since he was a kid with left sciatica down to his calf. Lifting heavy objects makes his low back pain flare up.

Thorough Structural Test reveals a structural abnormality at the 5th Lumbar vertebra — Pars Fracture — the rear portion of the vertebra that has fractured on both left and right side resulting in the body of the vertebra to slide forward which is known as spondylithesis.

There is no chiropractic/conservative method to repair a pars fracture, it is not attached and cannot re-attach without surgical intervention. However majority of patients with spondylithesis that undergo conservative care to address the biomechanical instability live fulfilled lives.

Conservative method to address this biomechanical instability are two fold:

1. Structurally correct the bone below the fracture. By moving the structure underneath will cause both the 5th lumbar body and sacrum to approximate closer, providing more stability.

2. The patient needs to do lower core exercises due to ligaments and muscles are the only structures left that are stabilizing the 5th lumbar.
